I have a passion to produce magazine-worthy images, allowing my clients to come alive in print. Looking through magazines gives me inspiration. When something intrigues me I imagine how to replicate the look, and then search for amazing wardrobe items.
I also design hand-made feather pieces, flower crowns, and other accessories, to accentuate the look I’ve styled; for example the Ralph Lauren Denim Supply military jackets. I strive to style looks that truly set my clients’ images apart from those of their friends. I hand make huge tulle skirts that make girls feel like real-life princesses. There’s a special place in my studio where whimsy lives. It’s my amazing clothes rack, overflowing with one-of-a-kind pieces. There’s something for every girl! And, I always have plenty of sparkle on hand, as I constantly update my jewelry selection from which the girls can choose, to complete their outfit.
Spending up to three hours with each girl enables me to select several shoot locations. I start here in Rocklin; then, depending on the look the girls are going for. I sometimes drive to downtown Sacramento, so they can run around the beautiful state capital with the gorgeous rose garden, or pose in front of the famous gold tower bridge for an awesome backdrop. Or, for a more urban setting, I may incorporate the abstract designs of the many professional graffiti installations painted by local artists in the city’s allies – comparable to the amazing work often only seen in New York City.
For girls who are more inclined to natural settings, I take them to Auburn down by the river where the nature never turns brown. The famous Niemi wall, which I use to create my fine art portraiture, transforms my girls’ images from ordinary to extraordinary.
